“The Dream of Istanbul” Art Tour
When Raffles Istanbul was first conceived, its creators dreamed of opulent spaces serving as a canvas for incredible works – pieces inspired by the sights, events and grandeur of the empires that once reigned here. The colours of precious Byzantine jewels, the intricacies of lavish mosaics, the geometries of Seljuk art, the kinetic installations that recall whirling dervishes… Layers of history and ancient concepts all reinterpreted through a thoroughly contemporary lens.
To realise that vision, Raffles Istanbul commissioned hundreds of talented artists and artisans – from Turkey and across the globe – to create the murals, photographs, mosaics, chandeliers and sculptures found throughout the hotel. To share some of these tailor-made acquisitions with you, we invite you to embark on the most unique “Dream of Istanbul” Art Tour.
Led by our in-house storyteller, this 50-minute exploration begins in the Grand Lobby and continues in the mezzanine, restaurants, bars, spa lobby and other public spaces. When weather allows, your guide will introduce you to our outdoor works of art.
